F-35 meeting

Went to a meeting last night concerning bringing the new F 35 jets to Burlington. I was one of about 20 hostile anti-military, anti government people in attendence. One retired military man gave a speech quoting Eisenhower and talked about the fact that the Military Industrial Congressional Complex has taken over our lives. I talked about the corruption, incompetence and waste of the Pentagon. I also spoke about how politicians are afraid to take a stand against this slaughter and I think it is cowardice. The choice between slaughter and non-intervention is an easy one. Many expressed the difficulty of denouncing the war and not saying we don't support the troops. I will continue to say I do not support killing and support the troops if they are home in Vermont protecting Vermonters. I do no support war or intervention. The Pentagon is using our children as corporate goons . It was a great meeting and I met a lot of nice people who were passionate about the same things as I am.
